Tree Services Evansville Indiana

I know there are many tree services in Evansville to choose from. However, hold your horses and just take a couple seconds to read this. Not all are created the same.

If you are not careful you could get cut rate service with an overpriced cost. Think about it, anyone can go to the local Home Depot or Lowe’s and grab some tree trimming tools. Get a chainsaw and some climbing gear and say hey were in business.

This happens all the time in this industry. People come and go. They do this for several reasons and I am going to lay them out here.

  1. They don’t know how to price a job in a fair way. This only comes from years of experience. Removing a tree or a stump looks like it may be a clean cut price (ha see what I did there) “clean cut”, but there can be many different things that would come into play.
  2. They don’t know how to play it safe. This is a dangerous business at times. When you are removing tons of wood from more than 10 feet in the air you had better know what your doing. You could damage a house, or car, or injure someone. The business that wants to take care of your trees should be a licensed pro. Ask to see the list of licenses they hold. Ask if they are bonded and insured. If they are not it may be a good idea to stay way back if you let them chop on your tree.
  3. They just don’t have the correct equipment. Have you ever heard “the right tool makes all the difference”? Well, same deal here. You may need a bucket truck, or you may need a long reach hand pruner. Either way you have to have all the right equipment and know how to use it.
  4. Ask them questions up front. Hey MR x tree company can you give me a list of references to check with, other companies that you did work for. Hey Mr. Tree man where are your licenses, insurance, and other papers? Are you a part of the International Society of Arboraculture? That is just a fancy term for “we know our tree’s” You should ask them if they damage the tree’s at all when trimming them like wearing spikes to climb them. Shouldn’t be but some do. Also shouldn’t be chopping off sections of live tree on the top, but again they will.
  5. Contracts are important. Ask them if they provide a contract with everything that is laid out. If they do not don’t do buiseness with them. You need to know how long it is going to take, what exactly they are doing, where is the waste going, what machines they will be using, what the cost will be, and so on and so forth. If they aren’t legit they wont have this. You need this so you both know what to expect from them.

If you go through these 5 simple things you tree company should be as good as gold. If you know that you have it covered and you have checked around for pricing and options go ahead and book the job.

Most people want to get the limbs trimmed up in the spring when the weather breaks and that is a good time because with nice weather it usually means we are going to get some bad storms as well. You want your trees dead branches removed so that when the wind comes through it doesn’t make your hard look like a forest floor.

Really, another good time to call a tree company is in the fall, because as you know the fall means winter ice and snow is on the way. Snow and ice are the 2nd largest contributors of tree limbs coming down. There is not much you can do about healthy limbs breaking under the pressure of tons of snow and ice, but you can minimize the chances of bad limbs coming down. All you have to do is follow the checklist above and have your dead branches removed, and the tree inspected by your aborist that is TCIA certified.
